Quick use

Use よやく しています (yoyaku shiteimasu) right after staff ask how many people are with you. A short number line is the normal answer at the restaurant entrance.

Chunk or pattern

  • Treat よやく しています as one useful chunk first.
  • Do not worry about rebuilding it from grammar every time. The fastest win is to recognize it, say it, and hear the reply that usually comes after it.

Helper words and endings

  • ます: is a polite verb ending.

Practical note

For restaurant entrances, simpler is better. Staff are usually listening for the number, not a full sentence.
